emotional cripples

I'm sure there are many emotional cripples around the world.

Interestingly, I know one myself.

An excerpt from the book "Playing Away" by Adele Parks:
"He told me that he feels uncomfortable with the chasm between who he is and who people expect him to be. What he feels and what people expect him to be. What he feels and what people expect him to feel. When he tries to explain himself it's so clear to me but most people don't get it. He is so misunderstood. He is so much more than what people can see."

The "HE" is a self-obsessed emotional cripple. Goodness. I KNOW ONE!! Haha.

Actually in the book, that excerpt was what the lady thought and construed out of what the man said. She thought too much. What the man told him was actually more simple and superficial than that. He isn't THAT misunderstood, just that women tend to think that men are complex in order to find excuses for them, to make herself feel better (the irony is that in the long term, she suffers even more!). Most men don't think as much as women when it comes to relationships. They think quite simply and do not over analyse like we do. Though it's hard not to try to make excuses for the man you want to believe in, it's so crucial to be sane and think with your head instead of your heart. Unless he drops dead-obvious signals that he's hitting on you and wants to date you, don't let your desire grow or let your imagination run wild if he is just on-and-off paying special attention to you. The key is: HE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU.

Life's good with my marker. Blissful.

:)
